About Steel Billet
Billet is a semi-finished, continuously cast steel product with a square cross-section. Re-rolling mills heat and roll it into long products — rebar, wire rod, merchant bars and light sections.
Billet is specified by steel grade and chemistry, cross-section, length and the standard it is produced to. Surface quality and internal soundness matter to the rolling mill, so inspection terms are agreed up front.
